Homemade low fat dog treats

Sweet Pawtato Balls

Barbara Hanly

Sweet Pawtato balls make a fantastic treat for your dog especially after a long walk or lots of play time. These are great treats for hiking too! I love using coconut flour because it adds extra soluble fibre which can help regulate doggies blood glucose levels. A delicious healthy low fat treat your dog will LOVE!

Ingredients:

1 cup cooked and mashed sweet potato

1/2 cup coconut flour

1 teaspoon melted coconut oil

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Method:

In a bowl combine the mashed sweet potato, coconut flour, melted coconut oil and cinnamon and mix well.

Roll 1 x dessert spoon of the mixture into small balls in your hands.  If the mixture is sticky, then add more coconut flour.

Place balls into a fridge for one hour or so until set and then store in fridge for up to 5 days. You can also freeze for up to 2 months.
