Calming Homemade Dog Treats Recipe

Barbara Hanly

We LOVE baking in homemade dog treats so thougth why not incorporate a calming ingredient to help stressed dogs during firework season. Valerian root is commonly recommended by Vets for noise phobias and fears associated with loud noises such as fireworks and thunder. The perfect homemade treat to help calm dogs during stressful situations and great as a bedtime treat too!!

2 x Cups Rice Flour

1 x Cup Oat Milk

2 x Dessert Spoon Coconut Oil

2 x Dessert Spoon Peanut Butter (Xylitol Free)

1 x Dessert Spoon Honey

1 x Dessert spoon dried valerian root

🐶 Preheat oven to 180c

🐶 Melt coconut oil gently and combine well with rest of ingredients in a bowl.

🐶 Knead dough ball and create a long roll on floured surface and cut into cookie pieces (roll out large or small depending on size of cookies you want)

🐶 Bake for 10/15 minutes on a baking sheet until golden brown.

🐶 Cool before serving and store in an airtight container.

Warning: should not be fed to puppies, senior dogs or dogs with serious health issues unless Vet approves first.
