These Blueberry Coconut No-Bake Dog Treat Squares are packed with nutrients and bursting with natural flavour. Blueberries are considered a superfood for dogs, rich in antioxidants that support overall health. Combined with coconut and oats, this recipe creates a nutritious vegan dog snack that is simple to prepare and naturally delicious.

Ingredients

  1. ½ cup blueberries

  2. 1 cup rolled oats

  3. ¼ cup unsweetened desiccated coconut

  4. 2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce

  5. 1 tbsp coconut oil

  6. 2 tbsp oat flour

Method

  1. Mash the blueberries in a bowl.

  2. Add applesauce and coconut oil and mix well.

  3. Stir in oats, coconut and oat flour.

  4. Mix until the mixture becomes sticky and holds together.

  5. Press the mixture into a small lined container or tray.

  6. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

  7. Once firm, cut into small squares.

These vegan blueberry dog treat squares should be kept refrigerated and can last up to 5 days in an airtight container. They’re a great way to add healthy fruit into your dog’s diet while keeping treats natural and wholesome.

Lower-fat option:

If you'd like to reduce the fat content (for pups with pancreatitis, EPI etc), you can leave out the desiccated coconut and replace the coconut oil with a small amount of honey to help bind the mixture together. The texture will be slightly different, but the recipe should still hold together well. If changing the recipe to include honey, do not feed to pups under 12 weeks.
